Friends with or a beta for a BNA can and often will become just as popular. Often times their fic will get read and even praised because of that association, no matter the quality.
Additional note: If the friend/beta’s fic becomes more poplar than their BNA friend’s fic there is usually the friendship ends.
There’s only room for so many BNAs in one room or in this case, a friendship.
